Market Hours

The market never closes — but it does not behave the same all day

Liquidity, spreads and volatility shift as each financial centre opens and closes. The London–New York overlap is the busiest window of the trading day; the quiet hours are where beginners often get chopped up by wider spreads and thin movement.

Why Doctor Forex Global

Education that respects your intelligence and your capital

The retail forex space is crowded with people selling certainty. We are not one of them. Currency trading is a genuinely difficult, genuinely risky activity where the majority of retail accounts lose money — and any resource that hides that from you is not on your side.

  • No signals, no guarantees. We do not sell trade calls or claim to predict the market. We teach you to build and test your own decisions.
  • Risk taught first, not last. Position sizing and capital preservation come before entry techniques, because that ordering is what keeps accounts alive.
  • Transparent about incentives. Where we have a commercial relationship with a broker, we say so on the page — not buried in a footer.
  • Written for both ends. Clear enough for a complete beginner, detailed enough that an experienced trader still finds the nuance useful.

Build the foundation

Understand market mechanics, order types and costs before any money is at stake.

Define your risk rules

Decide what you risk per trade, per day and per week — in writing, before you need them.

Test a single approach

One strategy, recorded across a meaningful sample, on demo or minimal size.

Review and adjust

Let your own journal — not your last trade — tell you what is and isn’t working.

Market Analysis

Understand what moves a currency

An exchange rate is the price of one economy against another. Once you know which forces set that price, the daily noise becomes far easier to filter.

Interest rate policy

Central bank decisions, and the expectations priced in ahead of them, are the largest structural driver of major pairs. Markets move on the gap between what was expected and what was delivered — not on the announcement itself.

Economic data

Inflation, employment and growth releases matter in proportion to how far they land from consensus. We cover which prints move which currencies, and why the surprise matters more than the number.

Risk sentiment & flows

Capital moves toward safety in stress and toward yield in calm. Understanding that rotation explains a large share of moves that look inexplicable on a chart alone.

Trading Toolkit

Practical tools, not predictions

Four working calculators that turn a vague intention into a defined, measurable trade. They run in your browser — nothing is sent anywhere.

Σ

Position Size

Work backwards from what you are willing to lose to the lot size that expresses it.

¤

Pip Value

Translate pips into your account currency across pairs, so risk is always in real money.

R

Risk : Reward

See the reward-to-risk ratio and the win rate it would need just to break even.

%

Margin

Understand the difference between the margin you post and the exposure you carry.

Broker & IB Partnership

Choosing where you trade matters as much as how

Your broker determines your execution, your costs, your platform access and — critically — what protections apply to your funds. Before opening any live account, work through the same checks regardless of who is recommending it.

  • Confirm the regulator and the specific entity your account sits under
  • Understand total cost: spread, commission, swap and any inactivity fees
  • Check deposit, withdrawal and verification requirements for your region
  • Test the platform on demo before committing capital

Mexatlantic

Mexatlantic is the broker partner featured on Doctor Forex Global. Our page sets out its platform offering, the questions worth asking before you apply, and the risks that apply to any live trading account.

Common Questions

Before you begin

Do I need money to start learning forex?

No. Everything in our education, guides and strategy sections is free to read, and every broker worth using offers a demo account funded with virtual money. You should be comfortable with market mechanics, order types and your own risk rules well before any real capital is involved.

How much can I realistically expect to make?

We will not give you a number, and you should be sceptical of anyone who does. Retail forex trading carries a high risk of loss and a significant majority of retail accounts lose money. A realistic early goal is not profit — it is surviving long enough, at a small enough size, to find out whether your approach has any edge at all.

Do you provide trading signals or managed accounts?

No. We do not sell signals, run copy-trading services or manage anyone’s money. A trader who cannot explain why they are in a trade has no way to know when to exit it, and no way to improve. We teach the reasoning instead.

Is forex trading suitable for everyone?

No. Leveraged currency trading is not appropriate for every person or every financial situation. It requires capital you can genuinely afford to lose, a tolerance for extended losing periods, and the discipline to follow rules under pressure. If any of those are missing, other approaches to building wealth are likely to serve you better.

How is Doctor Forex Global funded?

Through our introducing broker relationship with our featured partner, Mexatlantic. If you open an account through our link, we may receive compensation at no additional cost to you. We disclose this on every page where it is relevant, and it does not change what we teach or the risks we tell you about.

Where should a complete beginner start?

Begin with Forex Education to understand what you are actually trading, then move to Trading Guides for the practical mechanics. Do not skip the risk management material — it is the part that determines whether you are still trading in a year.

Start where it actually matters

Free, structured forex education built around risk and process — the two things that decide whether a trading account survives its first year.

Risk Warning

Trading foreign exchange and other leveraged products carries a high level of risk and can result in the loss of all of your invested capital. Leverage magnifies both gains and losses. Past performance is not a reliable indicator of future results, and no outcome is guaranteed. Charts shown on this page are illustrative and do not represent live market data. Doctor Forex Global publishes general educational information only — nothing on this site constitutes financial, investment, tax or trading advice, or a recommendation to buy or sell any instrument. You should consider your objectives, level of experience and risk appetite, and seek independent advice where appropriate, before trading. Please read our full Risk Disclaimer and Terms & Conditions.
