Comparing Other Brokers

We feature one broker partner, and we tell you so plainly. This page is for readers who want to look beyond it — a framework for comparing any broker on the things that actually matter.

Why there are no numbers on this page

You will not find spreads, ratings or licence numbers for third-party brokers here. We have not independently verified them, they change frequently, and they differ by entity and by your country of residence. A stale figure on our page could cost you real money — so we give you the method for checking instead, and you take the numbers from the source.

Why we will not rank brokers for you

Almost every “best broker” list online is an affiliate page. The ordering usually reflects commission rates rather than quality, the star ratings are unaudited, and the “pros and cons” are written to justify a predetermined ranking. We are an introducing broker for two of the brokers a reader might shortlist, so we are not going to pretend we could produce a neutral league table.

What we can honestly give you is the method. The criteria below are the ones that determine whether your money is safe and your trading is economic — and they apply to our featured partner exactly as they apply to everyone else.

Apply this to us too

Run this same framework over Mexatlantic and FxPro, the two brokers that pay us. If the checks lead you elsewhere, that is a good outcome and this page has done its job.

Comparison Framework

The eight things worth comparing

Fill this table in yourself for any brokers on your shortlist, using each firm’s own regulatory documents rather than review sites.

CriterionWhat to look for, and why it matters
Regulated entityThe exact legal company your account sits under, and its licence number on the regulator’s own public register. Large brokers run several entities with very different protections; a licence held by a sister company does not cover you.
Client fund segregationWhether client money is held separately from company operating funds, at which institution, and whether any compensation scheme applies to a resident of your country specifically.
Total cost per tradeSpread plus commission plus swap, on the pairs you actually trade, during the hours you actually trade. Headline spreads are usually quoted for the tightest account on the most liquid pair at the quietest moment.
Execution modelWhether orders are passed to the market or the broker takes the other side. Ask about slippage policy and requote behaviour, then verify it with a small live account.
Negative balance protectionWhether it applies to your entity and residency. Without it, a gap can leave you owing money beyond your deposit.
Withdrawal processMethods, timescales, fees and verification requirements. Test with a small amount early — withdrawal friction is the most common serious complaint against problem brokers.
Platform and instrumentsWhether it supports the platform, order types and instruments you need — including Gold and indices if you trade them, since contract specs differ.
Support qualitySend a specific technical question before depositing. A vague or scripted answer to a straightforward query tells you what a real dispute will feel like.

Brokers traders commonly shortlist

Readers frequently ask about Exness and IC Markets alongside our partners. We are naming them because they come up often, not because we have audited them, and not because we have any relationship with them.

FxPro is a different case and we should be explicit about it: we are an introducing broker for FxPro, so it is not a neutral comparison entry. It has its own disclosed page, alongside Mexatlantic.

We are deliberately publishing no spreads, ratings, regulator names or licence numbers for any of these firms. Those details change, they differ by entity and by your country of residence, and a stale figure on our page could cost you real money. Take them from each broker’s own website and confirm the licence on the regulator’s public register.

Be sceptical of comparison content generally

That includes ours. Anyone publishing a broker table has an incentive structure behind it. The only figures you should act on are the ones you have read in the broker’s own legal documentation and verified against a regulator.

Warning signs, whoever the broker is

Guaranteed returns

Any promise of fixed or guaranteed profit from trading is either a misunderstanding or a fraud. No exceptions.

Pressure to deposit

Account managers phoning to encourage larger deposits, or discouraging withdrawals, is a serious signal regardless of how helpful they sound.

Unverifiable regulation

If the licence number is not on the regulator’s own register, treat the claim as false however professional the website looks.

Bonuses that lock funds

Deposit bonuses often carry volume requirements that make withdrawing your own money conditional on trading a large amount first.

Risk Warning & Disclosure

Trading foreign exchange carries a high level of risk and can result in the loss of all invested capital. Doctor Forex Global has introducing broker relationships with Mexatlantic and FxPro and may receive compensation from those relationships; we have no commercial relationship with any other broker named on this page, and naming a broker is not a recommendation. Nothing here is financial, investment or trading advice. Always verify a broker’s regulatory status independently. See our full Risk Disclaimer and Affiliate Disclosure.
